A norma USB 3.1 inclu\u00eda duas taxas de transfer\u00eancia de dados, a SuperSpeed de 5 Gbps, tamb\u00e9m designada por USB 3.1 Gen 1, e introduzia uma taxa de transfer\u00eancia mais r\u00e1pida designada por SuperSpeed 10 Gbps ou SuperSpeed Plus, que aumentava a taxa de sinaliza\u00e7\u00e3o de dados para 10 Gbps, o dobro da SuperSpeed de 5 Gbps, e reduzia a sobrecarga de codifica\u00e7\u00e3o da linha para 3%, alterando o esquema de codifica\u00e7\u00e3o para 128b\/132b. O USB 3.1 foi concebido para ser retrocompat\u00edvel com todas as gera\u00e7\u00f5es USB anteriores, USB 2.0 e 3.0.<\/p>\n<p>Juntamente com a especifica\u00e7\u00e3o USB 3.1, foi introduzido um novo tipo de extremidade de conetor USB, o USB C, para melhor suportar a velocidade de dados do USB 3.1 Gen 2 e oferecer orienta\u00e7\u00e3o de ficha revers\u00edvel, norma PD (Power Delivery) m\u00e1xima de 100 W e suporte de modo alternativo de visualiza\u00e7\u00e3o.
