Lo standard USB 3.1 prevedeva due velocit\u00e0 di trasferimento dei dati: SuperSpeed a 5 Gbps, anche detta USB 3.1 Gen 1, e l'introduzione di una velocit\u00e0 di trasferimento pi\u00f9 rapida chiamata SuperSpeed 10 Gbps o SuperSpeed Plus, che aumenta la velocit\u00e0 di segnalazione dei dati a 10 Gbps, il doppio rispetto a SuperSpeed a 5 Gbps, e riduce l'overhead di codifica della linea a 3% cambiando lo schema di codifica a 128b\/132b. L'USB 3.1 \u00e8 progettato per essere retrocompatibile con tutte le generazioni USB precedenti, USB 2.0 e 3.0.<\/p>\n<p>Insieme alle specifiche USB 3.1, \u00e8 stato introdotto un nuovo tipo di connettore USB, l'USB C, per supportare al meglio la velocit\u00e0 di trasferimento dati dell'USB 3.1 Gen 2 e offrire l'orientamento reversibile della spina, lo standard PD (Power Delivery) da 100W massimi e il supporto della modalit\u00e0 alternativa di visualizzazione. Miliardi di PC e periferiche per PC, come mouse, tastiere, webcam e molti altri, hanno utilizzato la tecnologia USB per fornire connessioni affidabili, comunicazione di dati e ricarica di energia.<\/p>\n<p>Rilasciata nell'aprile 2000, la specifica USB 2.0 ha aumentato la velocit\u00e0 massima di trasferimento dati USB a 480 Mb\/s, nota anche come velocit\u00e0 di trasferimento dati USB ad alta velocit\u00e0, oltre alla velocit\u00e0 di trasferimento dati USB 1.x Full Speed di 12 Mb\/s.
